Shannon Faulk

Shannon Faulk has been the National Legislative and Political Organizer for American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) for the last 9 years. She covers the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico. She is the main point of contact for AFGE’s legislative and political program in these states, as well as field mobilization issue-based campaigns. She most recently spearheaded revamping AFGE’s national training program to train AFGE’s activists across the country to engage in legislative and political work.

Prior to AFGE she worked for the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and was based out of DC, doing similar work. Prior to becoming union staff, she worked for Congressman Steve Driehaus as a legislative aide and in 2008, his canvass director in his successful Congressional race, unseating a 14 year incumbent. 

Shannon graduated from Miami University (OH) with a Bachelors Degrees in Political Science and Black World Studies. She is currently working on her Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from Peirce College (PA). 

She was raised in a strong union family in Cincinnati, OH and she is the 3rd generation in the movement. Her father was a Teamster and UFCW member and her grandfathers were apart of UFCW and Metal Workers. She resides in San Antonio with her partner, Leo and young daughter, Penelope.
