Steelworkers Local Embroiled in Tough Contract Talks at Dow, Seek Solidarity and Available Help

Brothers and Sisters, Family, and Friends of Labor:

Our Brothers and Sisters at DOW are in a hard conflict with the company over their contract with the outcome unknown. We must prepare for the possibility of a strike; the company is preparing! We have been fortunate to have settled our contracts, now our Brothers and Sisters need your help. We must stock the pantry for their families from our families.

We are asking this Tuesday, March 5, 2019 and Thursday, March 7, 2019 starting at noon through 7:00 p.m. to drive by the USW 13-1 Hall at 311 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, TX 77506 and drop off dry foods, diapers, formula, canned vegetables and soups, shampoo, soap, or other family needs.

While this may be a little out of your way please remember all the help many of us have received during strikes, lay-offs, and other work stoppages. You can also combine with other co-workers to get your donation to the Hall. Don't count on others to do what we all need to do for our DOW Brothers and Sisters.

If we come to an agreement prior to a strike we will donate all goods to a Local Union on strike or the Harris County Food Bank. Any questions call Lee Medley (409)457-9983 or Jason Smith (713)816-3182.

In Solidarity,

Lee Medley
President USW Local 13-1
