Jeff Rotkoff

Campaigns Director

As a the Campaigns Director for the Texas AFL-CIO, Jeff Rotkoff works with local unions, international unions, and central labor councils across Texas to build and execute modern political & issue campaigns, in order to deliver policy wins for Texas working families and the Texas labor movement. 

Previously, Jeff was a political and communications consultant who worked as an advisor to Houston progressive donors Amber and Steve Mostyn, where he supported tens of millions of dollars in progressive political investments through 2015. In this role, Jeff helped execute the successful Harris County political effort in 2012, and helped elect Senator Sylvia Garcia in 2013. His previous political clients have also included the Back to Basics PAC, State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer, and the winning 2012 Pete Gallego for Congress campaign. In 2011, Jeff formed Texans for America's Future - a Super PAC whose mission was to oppose Rick Perry's campaign for President. 

From the fall of 2005 to the end of 2010, Rotkoff worked at the House Democratic Campaign Committee as the group's Deputy Director and Executive Director. As a member of the HDCC team, Jeff worked on dozens of winning legislative campaigns during the successful 2006 and 2008 cycles, and somehow lived though the 2010 elections. During this time, he additionally worked on House Democrats' legislative strategy and successful defeat of Republican Speaker Tom Craddick. Prior to joining the HDCC, Jeff served as Chief of Staff to State Representative Marc Veasey of Fort Worth. Jeff also worked for Congressman Chet Edwards in Waco, where he was the Field Director for Edwards' 2004 re-election campaign, worked on Congressman Edwards' 2002 campaign, and was as a member of Congressman Edwards' district congressional staff.

Jeff  is a 2001 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and a 2016 University of Texas Law School Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution Fellow. Jeff and his wife Neesha Davé live in Austin with their two children.
