Let’s make sure to celebrate victory together on the evening of May 24!

Good Times on May 1st

Both Tarrant and Dallas labor held May 1 picnics this year. Our featured speaker in Dallas was Judge Clay Jenkins. Reverend McGruder from Friendship West church was also warmly received.

Lou Luckhardt of the United Steelworkers of America initiated and guided our event to success. Lewis Fulbright, Rosie Curts, Chip Serrano, Gerardo Contreras, Kym Grant, Ray Edmondson, and Gene Lantz pitched in. The Steelworkers brought a great band. Linda Coleman and James Kille led singalongs for labor. Ben Willett of the Postal Employees shot dozens of photos and videos that are being displayed on our Facebook page. His videos are also going up on Youtube in the “Gene Lantz” channel. Pastor McGruder’s exciting talk, for example, is at https://youtu.be/9NW-yZT7G6w.

The May 1 celebrations reflected and advanced this extremely positive trend in today’s labor movement:

More than ever before, we are working together!
