Candidate signs the workers' pledge

The process began when our Political Committee reached out to all the candidates. Candidates then responded by filling out a carefully crafted survey of their positions. Then they met face-to-face with union representatives for grilling on such topics as understanding unions, privatization, and building progressive coalitions. They were asked to sign a pledge to stand with working families. Only the best won the right to display the Dallas AFL-CIO logo on their campaign materials and to benefit from the votes of union members and our substantial range of allies and supporters.

Labor Lobbies for Our Choices

We can go to the Texas Capitol any time to talk to legislators, but we might be more effective if we join with the State Employees Union (TSEU-CWA) on April 12. Call 512 779 4176 to get help with transportation and instructions.

Labor Chooses Better Jobs for World Cup Games

Dallas is one of the North American cities selected to participate in the 104 games for the World Cup in 2026. New jobs, new coalitions, and new ways of doing things will be created in hospitality, entertainment, transportation, and other areas. Dallas AFL-CIO intends to make sure that all the changes are worker-friendly. The first step is to find out what unions and community groups want to cooperate in the effort.
