Keep Wearing Red!

Dallas AFL-CIO asks all solidarity supporters to wear red on Thursdays. If a red jacket, shirt, or cap is not handy, a red scarf will do!

Assuming that the Auto Workers ratify their contract proposals, we can celebrate with them; but we still have to win with SAG-AFTRA. We're already knee-deep in helping organize Starbucks. Amazon is a target for the Teamsters, and the Auto Workers are sure to go after Toyota and Tesla. UAW President Shawn Fain told the world, “Now we’re going to organize like we’ve never organized before!"

 

Holiday Happenings

Employment Stats Still Look Good

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says 150,000 new jobs were added in October. Stats for August and September were revised downward. Economic growth is way up at a projected 4.6%, and there are roughly 1.6 job openings for every unemployed worker. Layoffs fell to a nine month low in September. The official unemployment rate remains at 3.9%. Wages are up 4.1%, while inflation stays at 3.7%
