The Dallas AFL-CIO, along with affiliates and allied organizations, is proud to announce the Texas AFL-CIO Citizenship Campaign, aimed at helping eligible Texas residents attain naturalization and the important rights that follow.

Our campaign is to be announced to the public at 10:30AM on Monday, September 17, at 1408 N Washington. https://www.facebook.com/events/2274267382802487/

Labor Is Calling

The organizer for the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans, Judy Bryant, begins phone banking at 10 AM this Monday, September 17 from the calling center at Alliance/AFT hall, 334 Centre Street in Oak Cliff. Volunteer and finalize your dates and times at judy4tara@aol.com or (214) 729-0063 .

Union members are the best voters in the American electorate because they are better informed and vote in higher percentages than the general population. Retiree families are particularly outstanding. Telephoning is the absolute best way to help inform retiree families.

The Dallas AFL-CIO will conduct a general phone bank at 6PM on September 25 as part of National Voter Registration Day.

Picket for Living Wages

Terry Meza took time from campaigning in Texas House District 105 to stand up for airport workers. She was pleased to see that Transport Workers and other unions also came out in support. Among them were Mark York and Lorraine Montemayor of the Dallas AFL-CIO.

The Passenger Services section of the Communications Workers of America carried out a news conference and picket line at DFW Airport on September 12. They said that American Airlines employs over 3,800 passenger service workers through its Envoy regional subsidiary.

The vast majority of these employees have to rely on public assistance or other family and friends to get by. The union and its supporters demand a living wage! See http://American-Poverty.org/ or text the word "AmericanPoverty" to 69866 for more info.
