When we fight, we win. Today's battle is the primary elections on March 6, and labor's activists are already in the trenches!

This Monday, February 5, is the last day that Texans can send in their voter registration cards. If they are postmarked later, they do not authorize voting in the first round of the primary election, but they could still be good for later 2018 elections. It is possible to start voter registration with the Secretary of State at https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/vrapp/index.asp. Any questions for our county can go to  Dallas County Elections Department 2377 N. Stemmons Fwy. Suite 820 Dallas, Texas 75207. The phone is (214) 819-6359.

A special meeting to swear in deputy voter registrars is set for 10 AM tomorrow, February 3, at the Alliance/AFT Hall, 334 Centre, 75208. All activists are invited.

Some or our races will be settled in the primary, because only one political party has candidates. State Representative Roberto Alonzo, Texas labor's top priority, has a strong opponent in the primary, but none in the general election. The critical race for Dallas Democratic Party Chair will be determined on March 6.

Dallas activists are not waiting around on these hot campaigns.

The ballot is a long one, so voters may need to consult our list of carefully screened endorsed candidates. A longer list of Texas candidates endorsed by the state federation is also on-line.
