"An injury to one is an injury to all" is the timeless slogan of the American labor movement. Mark York of the Dallas AFL-CIO led a group to join picketing with the fighting Fort Worth Musicians.  See our earlier article about the strike. They have an on-line donation site.

Fight for the Right to Retire!

Retiree activists will join Dallas City Employee representatives and others to call for a "NO" vote on Proposition # One on the Dallas ballot. The wording on the ballot is impossible to understand, but articles in the Dallas newspaper explain deep cuts in the right to retire. Nationwide, there are serious problems with pension programs because politicians have allowed them to go underfunded. The "solution" they propose, as in Dallas, is "cut the seniors!" Join in at 2 PM Thursday, October 13, outside Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla at Young Street. If the weather is good, we'll be by the flagpoles at the corner. If it's bad, we'll be closer to the building. Contact Gene Lantz at 214-942-4236.
