The Dallas AFL-CIO Wishes you the Very best Easter weekend

AFL-CIO Political Director Lorraine Montemayor is preparing a big pre-election celebration as we swing into action for get-out-the-vote activities April 22. Delegates to the Central Labor Council can get in on the planning during the regular 3rd Thursday meeting, 7:30PM on April 20. We will not campaign during the April 15 Easter weekend.

Join us on Saturday at 10AM in the parking lot at 1408 N Washington, and bring all your friends!

Good Friday March celebrates christianity

The Dallas Area Christian Progressive Alliance held its annual Good Friday march through downtown Dallas on April 14. Photos and an account are on our web site.

Labor History Gets a Celebration

The top floor of the library at UT-Arlington holds the largest labor history archives on this side of the Mississippi. On April 8, Dr George Green and the library staff celebrated their 50th anniversary. See our web site for more. The Dallas AFL-CIO web site recently introduced a new section on labor history. It is hoped that all the locals will bring their own stories for posting.

Arlington NAACP Chooses Candidates April 20

Our web site has an account of NAACP work from our own Jerrell Miller of the Communications Workers and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.

Our go-get-um web site also sports an account of the April 8 Mega-March in Dallas and a new section dedicated to union electoral work. It includes a list of endorsed candidates and schedules of important dates.
