Linda Chavez-Thompson Wins Democratic Nomination for Lieutenant Governor

Here are the results in the March 2 primary for COPE endorsed candidates in contested elections. All are Democratic primaries with the exception of House District 83, where a COPE endorsement occurred in the Republican primary:

Governor – Bill White won


Lt. Governor – Linda Chavez-Thompson won


Land Commissioner – Hector Uribe won


Agriculture Commissioner – Hank Gilbert won


U.S. House, CD 14 – Robert Pruett in Democratic runoff


CD 15 – U.S. Rep. Ruben Hinojosa won


CD 18 – U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee won


CD 22—Doug Blatt lost to Kesha Rogers


CD 23 – U.S. Rep. Ciro Rodriguez won


Texas Senate District 19 – Sen. Carlos Uresti won


SD 29 – Jose Rodriguez won


Texas House District 27 – State Rep. Dora Olivo lost to Ron Reynolds


HD 36 – Sandra Rodriguez lost to Sergio Munoz Jr.


HD 39 – State Rep. Armando Martinez won


HD 45 – State Rep. Patrick Rose won


HD 76 – State Rep. Norma Chavez in runoff


HD 83 – State Rep. Delwin Jones in runoff

HD 146 – State Rep. Al Edwards lost to former state Rep. Borris Miles (by 11 votes)

State Board of Education, District 5 -- Rebecca Bell-Metereau won
